Finance Manager

Overview

In this Finance Manager role, you will lead the finance function for a disruptive player in the London Market MGA, driving financial planning, close and consolidation across entities. You’ll partner with the CFO and senior leadership to enable growth through robust analytics, automation, and scalable financial systems. The role combines hands-on financial operations with strategic transformation, improving regulatory readiness and funding for expansion. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape a fast‑growing, collaborative underwriting business.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and produce management accounts across all entities
• Manage premium accounting activities (bordereaux, brokerage, profit commission, response provider fees)
• Oversee payroll, VAT, accounts payable/receivable, credit control and debtor management
• Handle cash flow, multi-currency treasury, banking, payments and FX operations
• Lead the statutory year-end process and reconcile underwriting platform data
• Support CFO with data analytics, budgeting/forecasting and regulatory reporting for FCA approval
• Contribute to building scalable financial infrastructure to support growth

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or highly capable finalist with London Market MGA experience
• Proven insurance finance experience in London Market, MGA, broker, or carrier environments
• Strong understanding of bordereaux, premium accounting, and premium finance systems
• Self-motivated, proactive with excellent problem-solving and systems mindset
• Ability to work independently and manage end-to-end finance processes while collaborating with senior leadership
• Experience with automation and AI tools to optimise processes
• Comfortable engaging with underwriting teams, executive leadership and investors
