Overview
As WHS Construction Manager, you ensure safety across Amazon construction sites and with vendors, aligning with company standards and local regulations. You partner with project teams to embed safe working from design through delivery and act as the safety point of contact for your area. You’ll inspect sites, review vendor documentation, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. This role combines field oversight with cross‑functional collaboration to protect workers and uphold Amazon’s safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Ensure construction projects and vendors comply with Amazon safety standards and local construction regulations
- Conduct construction site safety inspections and review vendor safety documentation
- Partner with project teams and contractors to embed safe working from design through delivery
- Track construction safety performance and drive closure of identified gaps
- Support the wider WHS team in maintaining construction safety standards across projects
- Coach project and contractor teams on safe practices and flag risks early
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Structural Engineering, Occupational Safety, or EQF-equivalent
- Practical understanding and application of WHS risk assessment and safety standards
- Experience managing health and safety within construction environments
- Working knowledge of construction safety regulations and vendor/contractor safety management
- English-language communication skills (written and verbal)
