Construction Manager

Overview

In this site-based role, you will lead construction operations on major water infrastructure projects for United Utilities, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget compliance. You will manage a team of engineers and subcontractors, providing technical support and production control, under the Project Manager. The position is based at Hawkshead, near Windermere, Cumbria, with a focus on waste-water projects and adherence to The Costain Way. This is an opportunity to shape delivery on AMP8/AMP9 programs and contribute to Costain’s smart infrastructure mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction leadership and manage all aspects of construction
• Ensure works comply with specifications and The Costain Way
• Promote Right First-Time quality and minimise rework
• Lead a team of staff and coordinate with the project leadership
• Support the Project Manager in construction matters including handover
• Provide planning and procurement support and manage subcontract activities

Key requirements

• CSCS & SMSTS qualifications
• Behavioural Management training
• Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
• Full UK Driving Licence
