Overview
As Project Manager in the Railway Operations team, you will steer operational requirements into practical railway solutions for a brand-new network. You’ll influence across engineering, programme and industry stakeholders to shape operability, maintenance and asset handover. This role focuses on delivering a safe, reliable and future-ready railway that meets the needs of operators and passengers. You’ll work on cross-functional delivery, governance engagement and operational readiness, with a clear impact on the project’s success and long-term performance.

Responsibilities
- Lead operational projects from concept to delivery and handover
- Develop and manage project plans, programmes and budgets
- Advance operational solutions for train service delivery and maintenance readiness
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and suppliers
- Ensure designs prioritise operability, maintainability, safety and performance
- Lead engagement with operators, regulators and industry stakeholders
- Manage risks, dependencies, issues and change control
- Provide reports and updates to senior leadership and governance forums
- Support safe asset introduction into service and long-term operation
Key requirements
- Delivery of major rail, infrastructure or complex multidisciplinary projects
- Managing project scope, programme, cost, risk and stakeholder interfaces
- Leading external suppliers, consultants and delivery teams
- Understanding of railway infrastructure systems and their interaction with operations and maintenance
- Experience across design, assurance, delivery and handover phases
