Overview
In this role you will own the developer-facing tools at the heart of Cloudsmith’s platform, including CLI, Terraform provider, MCP server, and IDE extensions. You’ll shape durable, platform-grade interfaces and ensure they evolve safely with the core platform. You’ll collaborate with Customer Success and Solutions Engineering to reflect how developers work in the real world. Your work will directly impact the developer experience across our customer base. This is a mission-driven opportunity to build tooling used by engineers at scale.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain developer-facing integrations (CLI, Terraform provider, MCP server, IDE/LSP extensions) as first-class platform products
- Design time-tested interfaces with careful versioning and backward compatibility
- Own the full software lifecycle from design to release and long-term support
- Align tooling with platform evolution and surface integration concerns early
- Translate customer feedback into durable tooling improvements for scale
- Champion developer experience and usability of CLI, SDK, and IDE plugins
- Contribute to automation across testing, releases, and validation
Key requirements
- 3+ years professional software engineering experience with production-grade shipping
- Strong API and interface design instincts, mindful of breaking changes
- Proficiency in at least one strongly-typed language (Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar)
- Security-aware with understanding of credentials and access patterns in tooling
- Familiarity with CI/CD ecosystems and modern DevOps toolchains
- Clear, confident written communication suitable for RFCs, changelogs, and READMEs
- Empathy for engineers as users and the ability to translate pain points into solutions
- Nice to have: experience with developer-facing tooling (CLIs, SDKs, Terraform providers, LSP, IDE extensions) and AI-assisted development tools
