Overview

In this high-visibility role, you will drive growth for key Grid Modernisation accounts by unifying cross-functional teams and shaping our client strategy. You’ll lead relationships with Tier 1 contractors, win large programs, and ensure top-tier delivery and client satisfaction. You’ll influence internal strategy, showcase AECOM’s capabilities, and push for sustainable, profitable growth in the energy sector. This is a chance to shape major infrastructure projects with a global, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Meet growth objectives for the client/contractor portfolio
  • Support Capture Managers to win work and Project Managers to deliver large programs
  • Raise AECOM’s profile in the energy sector through value, innovation and sector leadership
  • Drive sustainable, profitable growth and ensure client-focused delivery
  • Coordinate internal teams to align with the client vision and ensure high-quality delivery
  • Mentor team members in building strong client relationships
  • Own AECOM’s financial success with the client in collaboration with Project Leadership
  • Establish effective management processes and risk controls for successful delivery
  • Identify long-term trends and potential disruption in the area of expertise
  • Lead client development activities and manage large-scale renewals/agreements
  • Grow the project pipeline and repeat business; monitor projects for quality and consistency
  • Identify evolving resourcing needs and escalate as required
  • Maintain high client satisfaction through proactive communication and solutions
  • Cultivate primary client contacts and networks; be a visible client-facing representative
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Marketing and Communications to optimize end-to-end client development
  • Share best practices across the AECOM network; promote leadership values (Collaboration, Innovation, Delivery, Sustain, Thrive, Safety, Ethics & Quality)

Key requirements

  • Senior Grid Modernisation experience within energy, infrastructure advisory, or consulting/engineering services
  • Proven track record in managing client accounts and leading sales and business development in the energy sector
  • Deep knowledge of Grid Modernisation and relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to develop compelling value propositions
  • Excellent networking skills with Government and industry presence; able to speak at industry events
  • Experience with sales targets, business development strategy, and team leadership
  • Ability to discover client needs and translate them into growth opportunities
  • Experience handling large, complex programs and multi-party ecosystems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, engineering, energy, or related field (ideally)
