Overview

In this role you will lead multiple ASIC development programmes from spec through tape-out and production, collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineering teams and customers to ensure successful delivery. You’ll work across automotive, quantum, sensing, industrial and FPGA-based systems, gaining broad exposure to technical challenges. The position blends hands-on engineering context with strategic project leadership in a growing, customer-focused silicon solutions company. You will stay technically engaged while shaping complex chip development programmes. This is a hybrid, on-site role in Oxfordshire with a strong impact on delivery quality and programme outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple custom ASIC developments from specification to tape-out and production
  • Coordinate across digital design, verification, FPGA, mixed-signal, analog and system engineering
  • Manage customer relationships, scope, schedules, budgets, risks and change requests
  • Lead project reviews, track technical progress and ensure milestones are met
  • Collaborate with technical leads to challenge assumptions and address risks
  • Support projects across automotive, quantum, sensing and industrial electronics
  • Ensure delivery aligns with quality processes and customer expectations

Key requirements

  • Strong technical background in ASIC development, with early career in digital design, verification, FPGA, SoC or analog IC design
  • Ability to discuss technical topics credibly with engineering teams and challenge decisions when needed
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in semiconductor or deep-tech environments
  • Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Collaborative, proactive approach with ability to manage multiple complex projects
