Operations Duty Manager

Overview

In this role you will ensure the safe, on-time delivery of operational performance in line with customer expectations and service levels. You will lead the Operations Team, drive compliance with safety and security policies, and collaborate with internal and external partners to uphold high standards at Manchester Airport. You will act as Operations Manager when needed and report progress daily, solving issues to maintain performance. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused opportunity in a global aviation logistics context with a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operational performance within budget
• Manage the Operations Team and report/escalate to the Operations Manager daily
• Investigate and report on performance failures
• Ensure adherence to safety and security procedures
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain best practices with Heathrow Airport and Menzies Aviation requirements
• Own and deliver operational performance and relationships with customers
• Step in as Operations Manager on an ad-hoc basis
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers

Key requirements

• Minimum of 2 years management experience in Terminal Operations
• Ability to drive through policies and represent Operations
• Self-motivated and performance-driven
• Proven delivery of operational excellence
• Ability to work under pressure and stay calm
• Cooperative, team-oriented mindset
• Flexible with working hours/days to fit operational needs
• Airside driving and jetty licence required
