Overview

In this role you will provide expert health and safety guidance to the HPC CDM client and principal contractor teams on a high‑profile, large-scale project. You will influence multi-disciplinary decision making, develop risk-based inspection plans, and drive a zero-harm safety culture. The role sits within a collaborative team dedicated to delivering safe, compliant project delivery on Hinkley Point C. You will shape safety policies and deliver practical training and communications to ensure continuous improvement and project success.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to creating and improving workplace health and safety standards
  • Influence multi-disciplinary teams on planning and project evolution from a safety perspective
  • Develop project-based risk profiles to guide inspections and assurance activities
  • Assure Designers and Principal Contractors’ compliance with CDM 2015
  • Participate as SME in constructability, maintainability, and operability reviews
  • Conduct inspections, investigations, record-keeping, and reporting of safety events
  • Coordinate data for safety reports and identify trends and early warnings
  • Audit construction activities to ensure compliance with the construction phase plan
  • Advise on the interpretation and implementation of the health and safety management system
  • Deliver training, briefings, and safety information; engage in behavioural safety conversations
  • Proactively design and implement programmes to uphold zero tolerance to HSE issues
  • Promote awareness of HSE matters and collaborate to integrate policies across disciplines
  • Be an effective, collaborative member of a safety, health, and environmental team

  • Experience coordinating between contractors on safety interfaces
  • Tech IOSH or equivalent
  • NEBOSH HSE diploma or European equivalent
