Overview

In this role you will manage global payroll, benefits, and workplace experience with a focus on UK operations. You will partner with People Operations and Finance to ensure accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, and a smooth employee experience in a hybrid London setup. You’ll drive scalable payroll/benefits processes, compliance, and workplace programs that support engagement and operational excellence. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position that combines payroll, benefits, and workplace services to empower employees daily.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations in Workday and Deel, including international payroll processing and reconciliations
  • Develop and improve payroll, benefits, HR, and workplace processes and controls
  • Ensure compliance with payroll and benefits regulations, including tax and pension requirements
  • Administer employee benefit programs and regional benefits, and support renewals and vendor evaluations
  • Audit payroll, benefits, HR data, invoices, and related programs for discrepancies
  • Process lifecycle changes (new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations) and payroll data updates
  • Review and approve payroll- and benefits-related invoices and expenses
  • Source, onboard, and manage vendors across payroll, benefits, workplace services, and events
  • Oversee day-to-day workplace operations and manage workplace programs and events
  • Plan and execute employee events and workplace initiatives to support engagement
  • Lead facilities projects, maintenance, and office improvements
  • Monitor office space utilization and maintain scalable workplace systems
  • Build cross-functional relationships to align workplace operations with HR needs
  • Serve as primary onsite resource for payroll, benefits, and workplace questions

Key requirements

  • 2+ years in payroll/benefits/People Operations or related HR operations
  • Experience supporting payroll/benefits in the UK with local requirements
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits compliance, UK taxes, pensions, and regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong communication and employee service skills
  • Experience managing external vendors and coordinating with internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on experience with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll platform (preferred)
  • Experience with workplace operations, events, or facilities (a plus)
  • Experience with global benefits, international payroll vendors, or EOR (a plus)
