Overview
In this Financial Controller role, you will manage production-related financial processes in a growing manufacturing environment. You’ll drive inventory, costing, and financial controls in collaboration with the Finance Director and operations across the UK and internationally. You will shape standard costing, stock accuracy, and margin analysis to support profitable production and informed decision-making. This is an impact role with exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams in a dynamic business.

Responsibilities
- Own production planning and ensure accurate financial treatment across manufacturing activities
- Manage standard costing models and maintain product cost sheets
- Lead month-end stock reconciliations between ERP and WMS, investigate discrepancies
- Monitor WIP valuations and raw material usage against expectations
- Ensure accurate COGS reporting and perform margin/variance analysis
- Prepare complex profit-share and royalty-style calculations
- Review and approve stock-related supplier invoices and manufacturing cost allocations
- Validate third-party warehousing and subcontractor costs with proper cost center allocation
- Partner with operational and finance teams to strengthen financial controls and improve reporting processes
Key requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in manufacturing, production, inventory, or stock-intensive environments
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, WIP, and COGS
- Advanced Excel skills for complex financial models and analyses
- Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and build cross-functional relationships
