Overview
As a Planning Engineer in WSP’s PMCM Planning & Scheduling team, you will help create and maintain robust programmes for major UK infrastructure, energy, and rail projects. You’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers and delivery partners to enable on-time delivery and support evidence-based decisions. This role offers exposure to high-profile nationwide programmes and opportunities to develop your planning expertise within a global consultancy. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project programmes from first principles
- Analyse schedules using industry-standard planning tools
- Support integrated project teams to deliver complex infrastructure or capital projects
- Contribute to programme reporting, change/risk management and schedule assurance
- Prepare basis of schedule documents and schedule narratives
- Facilitate planning workshops with multi-disciplinary teams and clients
- Support NEC schedule assurance and project performance analysis
Key requirements
- Experience in planning and scheduling within infrastructure, construction, energy, or regional rail
- Ability to develop plans from first principles and maintain schedules
- Experience working in integrated project teams and applying project controls methodologies including EVM
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret project data
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
