Overview

In this role you own Clancy’s corporate insurance programme and claims activity, guiding risk and contractual decisions across the business. You will partner with teams, brokers and insurers to protect the company while delivering value from insurance arrangements. You lead a small team and act as the expert on insurance and claims, shaping risk management across our operations. This is a chance to influence major commercial decisions with practical, commercially-focused advice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continually improve the corporate insurance programme
  • Manage annual renewal process and broker/insurer relationships
  • Oversee employer’s liability, public liability, professional indemnity, motor fleet, property and specialist policies
  • Lead a small insurance administration and claims team
  • Act as subject matter expert for insurance and claims management
  • Provide practical, commercially focused advice to operational, commercial and senior leadership teams
  • Review insurance requirements within bids, contracts and commercial agreements
  • Manage complex claims through investigation, defence and settlement
  • Monitor claims trends and identify opportunities to reduce frequency, cost and operational risk
  • Support proactive risk management across the business
  • Drive continuous improvement in insurance processes, reporting and service delivery

Key requirements

  • Significant experience managing corporate insurance programmes
  • Experience handling complex liability and motor claims
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance principles and claims management
  • Experience working with brokers, insurers and loss adjusters
  • Ability to review and negotiate insurance requirements within contracts and commercial agreements
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and reporting capability
  • Experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure, engineering or another operationally complex environment
  • ACII qualification, or progress towards one, would be advantageous
