Senior Cost Manager – Property

Overview

As Senior Cost Manager, you will lead cost planning and commercial management for medium to large projects in the property sector. You’ll mentor colleagues, drive cost efficiency, and partner with clients and teams to meet budget, time, and quality goals. Responsibilities

• Manage cost planning and delivery for medium to large projects ensuring alignment with controls and quality standards
• Mentor team members to build capability and share best practice
• Own key project elements, manage resources, and meet deadlines
• Identify and escalate project risks with actionable recommendations
• Analyze data and documents to inform cost decisions and drive service improvement
• Collaborate across teams and with clients to provide technical advice and ensure satisfaction
• Apply industry best practices and contribute to process innovation
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to support business growth

Key requirements

• Proven cost management experience, ideally in residential projects
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
• Ability to manage projects from inception to completion
• Skilled in CostX or similar software
• Degree-qualified with relevant professional/chartered status
• CSCS card holder
• Demonstrable ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and external stakeholders
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects
• Familiarity with current industry standards, regulations, and best practices
