Overview

As an AI Analyst within RBC Global Asset Management, you embed with investment desks to translate AI capabilities into practical, repeatable workflows for decision making. You work alongside PMs, analysts, and traders to scope, prototype, and scale AI-powered solutions for investment processes. You will vet models, build evaluation criteria, and act as the technically informed guide on AI capabilities and limits on the trading floor. This role offers core technical influence with real business impact, shaping how AI supports investing.

Responsibilities

• Embed with desks to diagnose workflows and tailor AI solutions for investment processes
• Design, test, and optimize AI workflows from scoping to repeatable output
• Research new model architectures, agent frameworks, and tooling and translate findings into prototypes for investment teams
• Build and maintain evaluation frameworks to benchmark output quality and reliability
• Serve as the most technically informed person on the investment floor regarding AI capabilities and limitations
• Collect structured user feedback and analyze patterns to continuously improve tool design and adoption

Key requirements

• Strong mental model of AI systems and behavior changes
• Proven skill in prompt engineering, context management, loop engineering, RAG, and multi-step workflows
• Ability to evaluate AI output reliability in an investment context
• Strong Python programming with API integration and rapid prototyping
• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or GitHub Copilot
• Strong numerical, statistical, or mathematical foundations (CS/Math/Physics/Engineering or related)
• Intellectual curiosity and up-to-date knowledge of AI developments
• Exceptional communication skills to explain technical concepts to portfolio managers and traders
