Overview

In this Director role, you will manage and grow a Corporate banking portfolio within risk appetite, driving relationship-based deal origination and execution. You’ll work with Directors and Senior Directors to deliver compelling funding solutions and a standout customer experience, contributing to the Strategic Finance Team’s market presence in North & East Scotland. You will assess risk, shape lending proposals, and ensure compliant loan documentation while collaborating across offices. This is a role with impact on sustainable returns and a strong, customer-centric culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a corporate relationship portfolio within risk appetite
  • Originate and execute deals in collaboration with Directors and Senior Directors
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience to differentiate from competitors
  • Assess risk and compliance to minimise bad and doubtful debts
  • Prepare and validate loan and security documentation and support onboarding
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to deliver key transactions and develop your own skills
  • Network with external peers to enhance Virgin Money’s reputation as a leading funding solutions provider
  • Maintain awareness of the regional market and leverage local professional networks

Key requirements

  • Track record of excellence in customer service
  • Strong technical, credit and deal management skills with a proven history of delivering secured and unsecured lending solutions
  • Experience interpreting financial statements, forecasts and cash flows; ability to calculate key ratios and perform credit modelling
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to present and deliver messages credibly
  • Aptitude to quickly synthesize information, identify issues and implement solutions
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
  • Understanding of FCA banking regulations and adherence to policies
  • Knowledge of the North & East Scotland regional market and local professional network
