Overview
As a Research Chemist in Dyson’s Research function, you will explore chemical filtration technologies and support Home and New Category projects. You will assess emerging theories, design proof-of-concept experiments, and adapt insights to real-world product challenges. You’ll communicate complex science clearly to cross-functional colleagues and contribute to a culture of technical excellence. This role offers the chance to shape next-generation filtration solutions within a fast-paced, design-driven environment. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to turn theory into impactful products.

Responsibilities
- Research and apply fundamental chemical theories to gas and/or water filtration across Home and/or New Category
- Evaluate new technologies and scientific approaches across a range of applications
- Propose and develop test methods for technology proof of concept and optimisation
- Apply chemical analysis techniques to assess and improve product outcomes
- Plan ahead, prioritise tasks, and coordinate workstreams with other team members
- Communicate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues
Key requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant discipline
- Knowledge of fundamental scientific theories relevant to chemical filtration
- Ability to research and critically assess emerging technologies and methods across areas including chemical filtration
- Familiar with chemical analysis techniques
- Good organisational skills to plan, prioritise, and coordinate tasks in team settings
