As a Site Engineer you will support the delivery of rail and civil infrastructure projects across Scotland, ensuring work is safe, accurate, and high quality. You will work closely with Site Agents, Project Managers, and subcontractors to meet programme milestones and technical requirements. The role combines surveying, documentation, and on-site problem solving to keep projects on track. Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying works in line with drawings and specifications
- Ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Maintaining site records, quality documentation, and as-built information
- Supporting Site Agent and Project Manager with programme delivery and technical queries
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring work meets quality standards
- Assisting with temporary works, permits, inspections, and HSE compliance
Key requirements
- Experience as Site Engineer in civil engineering or rail infrastructure
- Strong setting-out skills using Leica, Trimble, or similar equipment
- Understanding of QA processes, engineering documentation, and technical drawings
- Excellent communication and relationship-building on site
- Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree) with CSCS certification
- PTS certification advantageous but not essential
