Nixon McQuade is delighted to be recruiting a Graduate Compliance Assistant on behalf of a leading commercial law firm in Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Law, Business, Criminology, Politics or related graduate to begin a career in legal risk and compliance. No previous compliance experience is required, with full training and support provided.
Working alongside the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will gain practical experience in client onboarding, anti-money laundering checks and the processes that support the firms compliance obligations.
The Role:
Assist with client onboarding and the opening of new client and matter files.
Obtain and review client identification and supporting documentation.
Carry out client due diligence and screening checks in line with firm procedures.
Maintain accurate records and follow up on missing information.
Liaise with solicitors and business services teams on routine compliance queries.
Support file reviews, audits and compliance process improvements.
The Person:
A degree in Law, Business, Criminology, Politics or a related discipline.
Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
Able to manage competing tasks and use your own initiative.
An interest in developing a long-term career in risk and compliance.
Experience gained through part-time work, placements or volunteering would be beneficial, particularly where you have demonstrated accuracy, responsibility or strong communication skills.
