Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

Overview

As Financial Reporting Senior Analyst, you will help scale Monzo’s finance function with robust reporting, policy controls, and insightful commentary. You’ll collaborate with engineers and data teams to automate reporting and support the year-end process with external auditors. The role sits in a fast-moving fintech environment focused on expansion, ESG disclosures, and regulated financial reporting. You contribute to a high-integrity financial platform that underpins growth and stakeholder trust.

Responsibilities

• Write insightful management commentary aligned with the business and products
• Automate reporting components with engineers and data teams
• Manage accounting system utilization to reduce manual processes
• Maintain scalable financial reporting policies, controls, and procedures
• Support full year-end process from drafting annual report to external auditor sign-off
• Assess accounting treatment for new products and changes in standards
• Maintain and develop balance sheet substantiation controls
• Assist implementation of new accounting system to minimize manual work
• Contribute to ESG sustainability reporting and disclosures
• Prepare monthly management and ad-hoc reports with meaningful analyses
• Review new contracts for correct accounting treatment in collaboration with business/legal teams
• Support month-end close processes and broader finance inquiries

Key requirements

• Qualified chartered accountant (ACA or CA)
• Audit experience plus financial reporting and controls experience outside practice
• Strong attention to detail
• Understanding of banking and regulatory landscape and financial controls
• Self-starter with ability to translate complex information clearly
• Experience leveraging data to automate reporting (SQL a bonus)
• Comfortable in a dynamic, evolving environment
