Overview
In this role you will contribute to the delivery of water infrastructure projects in a multidisciplinary team. You will undertake technical feasibility studies, design and manage elements of potable, foul and surface water systems, and gain on-site experience translating designs into real-world outcomes. You’ll work with hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists and engineers on high-profile UK and international schemes. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists and specialists to deliver impactful water solutions
- Conduct technical and feasibility studies for potable, foul, surface water and attenuation needs, with detailed calculations
- Participate in all design stages from feasibility to detailed design and prepare reports and specifications
- Perform numerical analyses using advanced software to evaluate potable, surface and wastewater systems
- Design water infrastructure (treatment plants, pump systems, pipe networks) with safety in design considerations
- Gain on-site experience through site visits and project implementation
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Master in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Proven experience in the water sector with a consultancy
- Experience with engineering assessments, options appraisals, calculations or economic appraisal
- Working towards chartership or incorporated status (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)
- Experience of outline and/or detailed design, preferably for wastewater/water treatment or flood risk and drainage schemes
- Numerical analyses using advanced software tools
