Overview
In this role you partner with site leadership and operations to drive financial performance across a high-throughput logistics operation. You will support mobilisation and go-live of a new automated distribution centre, then stabilise and optimise finance processes and controls. You translate data into actionable insights to inform strategic decisions and improvements in productivity, cost, and delivery performance. You work closely with cross-functional teams to enable faster, smarter commerce at scale. This is a chance to shape the financial backbone of a major omnichannel transformation at M&S.

Responsibilities
- Partner senior operational stakeholders to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions and drive accountability across warehouse performance, productivity, service and cost.
- Support mobilisation and launch of the Lichfield distribution centre, establishing finance processes, reporting, controls, reconciliations and visibility of key risks and opportunities.
- Own budgeting, forecasting and periodic reporting, continuously improving quality, speed and automation of outputs.
- Analyse warehouse economics by linking volumes, labour, automation, productivity, inventory and operational performance to financial outcomes.
- Support peak planning, capacity management and operational decision making through scenario modelling, root-cause analysis and performance forecasting.
Key requirements
- Professionally qualified in accounting (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong business partnering or operational finance experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, retail, FMCG or high-volume environments
- Solid analytical capability with budgeting, forecasting, modelling and performance analysis
- Experience improving reporting, controls, processes or ways of working through change, transformation or systems implementation
- Excellent stakeholder management with ability to influence non-finance audiences
- Advanced Excel; Power BI or similar reporting tools
