Overview
As Site Manager you will lead highways projects across Scotland, overseeing delivery, safety and quality. You will work with cross-functional teams to manage programme, resources and commercial performance on drainage, trenchless remediation and wider civil works. This role sits at the heart of a growing highways contractor that prioritises safety, innovation and high-quality delivery. You will engage with clients and stakeholders, driving projects to programme and budget with hands-on site leadership.

Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and deliver highways projects across Scotland
- Oversee programme, resources, safety, quality and environmental requirements
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ and highways standards
- Coordinate shift start-ups, close-downs and changeovers
- Contribute to Construction Phase Plans and Project Management Plans
- Lead and develop Supervisors and Operatives
- Deliver site safety briefings and on-site training
- Conduct appraisals and support team development
- Maintain client and stakeholder relationships
- Attend site visits and support asset assessments
- Identify opportunities for additional work
- Monitor KPIs, programmes and deadlines
- Manage staffing, hours and operational resources
- Oversee plant, vehicles and equipment
Key requirements
- Experience managing highways contracts and teams on live highway environments
- Strong understanding of drainage construction and relevant standards (CDM 2015, MCHW, DMRB, CS 551, CD 535)
- Health and safety awareness with commercial acumen
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership
- Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in construction or project management
- SMSTS
- CSCS with manager-level preferred
- Full UK driving licence
- Competence in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Flexibility to work days and nights and travel across Scotland
