Overview

In this Practice Manager role you oversee the day-to-day operations of two Sheffield GP sites within Forge Health Group. You will provide operational and people leadership, ensuring safe, patient-centred services and strong governance. You’ll drive HR, complaints handling, and quality improvement while managing finances and contracts. The role offers scope to influence service delivery and support a diverse, high-performing team in a well-established training practice.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of both sites and ensure responsive services
  • Coordinate workforce planning and staff rotas; manage recruitment, induction and retention
  • Lead HR processes and performance management; support staff wellbeing
  • Act as complaints lead; investigate, respond and drive learning from feedback
  • Lead quality improvement projects and governance activities; support CQC readiness
  • Support delivery of primary care contracts and monitor service performance
  • Foster cross-site communication and a collaborative, patient-centred culture
  • Provide strategic input to practice development with GP Partners and wider team

Key requirements

  • GP NHS management experience
  • Strong HR and people-management knowledge
  • Experience with rota management and workforce planning
  • Experience handling patient concerns or complaints
  • Knowledge of GP practice finance: budgeting, income streams, claims, reimbursement, financial monitoring
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and make management decisions
  • Ability to use data to support decision-making
