Protecting Workers on the Track (PWT)

Overview

In this role, you will assess track assets to ensure safe handback to traffic, using LU-aligned gauges and equipment. You will contribute to surveys, clearance gauging, and inspections across locations on the London Tube network. You work closely with colleagues and clients to uphold safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The position offers extensive in-house training and long-term opportunities with TfL/LUL track teams, underpinned by strong rates and consistent demand.

Responsibilities

• Assess track and assets for handback to traffic using LU-standard gauges and equipment
• Conduct clearance gauging, surveys and inspections
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to communicate findings and ensure safety and compliance
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of track and conductor rail components, materials, and rail standards
• Work across London Tube network sites with clean UK driving license

Key requirements

• T002 (Repaired Asset) or T002 and T003 (Modified Asset) licences
• ICI-LU, BTA, DAMPS and Medical certificates
• Clean UK driving licence
• Good working knowledge of track and conductor rail components and materials
• Familiarity with current rail standards, processes and documentation

• Good communicator
• Ability to work closely with colleagues and clients
