Senior Technical Manager (Commissioning)

Overview

As Commissioning Lead (M&E), you will steer commissioning feasibility, design oversight and supplier strategy across a diverse portfolio. You’ll drive regional commissioning strategy, ensure technical performance, and manage sub-contractor relationships to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality M&E outcomes. This role combines hands-on commissioning with strategic planning, risk management and stakeholder engagement to support Bouygues’ unbundled MEP approach. You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and safety at scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee/report on commissioning technical performance for allocated projects
• Apply regional commissioning technical strategy and plans aligned with broader business goals
• Manage and resolve conflicts with commissioning sub-contractors
• Develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Implement commissioning design risk and opportunities management
• Contribute to SES technical strategy development and implementation
• Conduct commissioning feasibility studies across a broad project spectrum
• Perform regular drawing reviews to verify systems meet design studies and performance objectives

Key requirements

• Substantial experience with a Tier 1 contractor (commissioning delivery or MEP contracting)
• Proven commissioning delivery across multiple project typologies/sectors/values
• Experience of technical responsibility on projects
• Experience with 50M+ M&E packages
• Understanding of project lifecycle and commissioning design risk management
• Subject matter expertise in commissioning design approaches, technologies and standards
• Effective communication skills and ability to motivate teams
• Knowledge of UK building regulations and health & safety construction laws
• CSA – Commissioning Specialist Association (advantageous)
• London-based with willingness to travel to Jersey
