Financial Systems Analyst

Overview

In this role you support the NHS Finance Directorate to optimise financial resources, ensuring accurate reporting and value for money. You will lead reporting development and finance process improvements, collaborating with the Digital and NEP teams to safeguard data integrity. You’ll solve problems, investigate issues, and drive continuous system enhancements in a small, professional team. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive system support to the finance department
• Lead daily liaison with NEP (system provider) and Trust Digital department
• Develop and improve finance reporting and processes
• Investigate issues, communicate deadlines, and ensure high standards
• Contribute to Trust-level financial position reporting
• Participate in cross-team technical discussions and knowledge transfer
• Ensure GDPR and information governance compliance
• Support agile working arrangements and occasional travel across the Northwest

Key requirements

• MCTS certified or equivalent qualification in other technology or equivalent experience
• Degree level education or equivalent
• Strong SQL skills (SQL-Transact and SQL Server)
• Experience with reporting tools (PowerBI, QlikView/BO)
• Understanding of information governance and GDPR
• Proficient in database interrogation and data quality awareness
• Excellent written and verbal communication for financial information
• Ability to manage and develop complex information systems
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail
• HR processes experience (advantage)
