Overview

In this field role you install Air Source Heat Pumps and other low-carbon tech in customers’ homes, supported by extensive training. You’ll work with a team, apply practical heat‑pump installation know‑how, and review technical drawings to ensure quality. You’ll collaborate with electricians to commission systems and lead your crew to deliver outstanding customer experiences. The role sits within Octopus Energy’s autonomous, learning‑driven Field Operations culture, offering growth in renewables and hands‑on problem solving.

Pay / Benefits

  • Basic salary 38,000 per year
  • On-target earnings 45,000

Responsibilities

  • Install low-carbon technology (Air Source Heat Pumps) in customers’ homes as part of a team
  • Participate in state-of-the-art training centre to build confidence and solutions for field challenges
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience through hands-on problem solving
  • Review and collaborate on technical specifications and mechanical drawings
  • Collaborate with electricians to commission Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Lead a team, empowering the crew to make on-the-ground decisions for customers

Key requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent experience)
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Experience in boiler installation and heating system design
  • Knowledge of domestic hot & cold water systems
  • Experience reviewing/challenging technical specifications & mechanical drawings
  • Basic electrical competency (desirable)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and quality standards (CIBSE & MCS) (desirable)
  • Gas Safe certification (desirable)
  • F-gas knowledge (desirable)
