Overview

In this role, you partner with the Property and Format teams to drive profitable growth across Dunelm’s store estate. You’ll own the end-to-end financial view of store investments, lead investment appraisals, and shape business cases and forecasts. You collaborate with cross-functional partners to inform decision-making and improve financial governance. This opportunity combines high visibility, strategic influence, and hands-on finance leadership in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary finance business partner to Property & Format teams, delivering commercial insight and constructive challenge
  • Lead financial appraisal of new store, refit and other property investments, assessing costs, benefits, risks, payback and returns
  • Manage end-to-end tracking of investment spend, benefits and returns against business-case assumptions
  • Lead post-implementation reviews and improve methodologies for investment appraisal and governance
  • Provide month-end close narratives for property costs and investments and ensure timely forecast updates
  • Coach and develop the Finance Business Partner for Property & Store Controllables and build team capability
  • Support profitable growth initiatives across the store estate, including new store openings and refits
  • Enhance business cases, modelling, governance, and decision-making processes across the Property and Format portfolio

Key requirements

  • Finance qualification with broad finance experience
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
  • Proven ability to challenge senior stakeholders and influence investment decisions
  • Improvement mindset with experience improving models, governance, or reporting
