Overview

In this three-yearFinance Development Programme you will build foundational management accounting and financial reporting skills, progressively taking on more complex financial analysis and insight for decision-making. You’ll rotate across Financial Management areas, develop commercial awareness, and work with stakeholders to support key initiatives. The program includes studying towards a professional qualification (CIMA) and a structured, learning-focused journey to grow into a professional finance role within Nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Build foundation in management accounting and financial reporting; analyze monthly financial information
  • Produce financial insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation
  • Identify process improvements and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Take ownership of increasingly complex work; contribute to management reporting and business planning
  • Develop ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences; support key Nationwide initiatives
  • Pursue professional qualification (CIMA) alongside practical work; participate in a dedicated learning journey
  • Engage with different Finance areas and networks to broaden experience and impact

Key requirements

  • Two A Level qualifications (A*-E) and three GCSEs (Maths and English included)
  • Strong numeracy and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Commercial awareness of Nationwide and the Financial Services industry
  • Motivation to study toward professional finance qualifications
  • Curiosity and ability to analyse data to solve problems
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritisation skills
  • Willingness to collaborate across the Finance department and with stakeholders
