Senior Family Solicitor – Leicester

Overview

You will join a national award-winning law firm in Leicester as a Senior Family Solicitor, handling a private family caseload and contributing to the firm’s growth. You’ll advise on divorce, financial remedies, and related matters while building client and professional networks. The role combines high-value casework with mentoring junior staff and promoting the department through business development. You’ll work independently within a collaborative team focused on delivering quality outcomes and strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a privately funded family caseload
• Advise on divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships
• Handle finances and high-net-worth financial settlements
• Oversee property and asset division, pension sharing
• Manage cohabitation disputes and separation agreements
• Draft/advise pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
• Build and maintain client relationships; develop referral networks
• Support and mentor junior team members

Key requirements

• Minimum of 8 years’ PQE in family law
• Extensive experience managing a private family law caseload
• Strong expertise in divorce and financial remedy matters
• Excellent technical knowledge of family law and current developments
• Proven ability to manage complex and high-value financial cases
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and client relationship skills
• Commercial awareness and proactive business development
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Membership of Resolution and Family Law Accreditation an advantage but not essential
