Legal innovation project manager

Overview

In this role you lead the delivery of legal innovation initiatives, guiding projects and programmes through structured PMO practices. You partner with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into actionable roadmaps and ensure governance, budgeting, and risk management are in place. You’ll drive continuous improvement across delivery frameworks while supporting the evolution of legal services. This is a chance to shape how a global legal function delivers value at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee delivery of legal innovation projects and programmes to time, scope, and quality
• Partner with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into delivery roadmaps
• Establish project governance, reporting, risk management, resource planning, and change control
• Drive consistency and continuous improvement across PMO frameworks and practices
• Track performance, budgets, dependencies, and risks to enable clear decision-making
• Coordinate communications and reporting across partners and teams
• Support portfolio planning, prioritisation, and demand management
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to capability development and continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Experience delivering projects and programmes in a structured PMO environment
• Ability to handle complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and dependencies
• Strong governance, reporting, assurance, and portfolio management knowledge
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, resources, and performance
• Experience across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, and Power BI
• Strong executive-level presentation skills
