Overview

As Chief Procurement Services Officer, you will lead the group’s procurement, commercial, and supply chain functions to support outstanding patient care. You’ll shape and deliver a forward-looking procurement strategy, drive value from non-pay expenditure, and foster governance, compliance, and transparency across NHS and supplier networks. You’ll partner with executive leaders and clinical teams to enable transformation, innovation, and sustainable cost improvements. This is a mission-driven role within a joined NHS foundation trust, offering strategic influence at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and deliver the Group Procurement and Commercial Strategy
  • Deliver annual savings, productivity and value improvement targets from non-pay expenditure
  • Establish a best-in-class procurement and supply chain service across University Hospitals Tees
  • Lead strategic sourcing, category management and supplier relationship management programmes
  • Ensure compliance with procurement legislation and governance frameworks
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of digital procurement and inventory management systems

Key requirements

  • Significant senior leadership experience within a large, complex healthcare organisation
  • Experience developing and implementing long-term procurement strategies
  • Master’s level management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS)
