Overview

In this role you guide defendant EL/PL claims from a busy Casualty team within a respected defendant firm. You will handle mixed fast-track and multi-track matters, supporting Partners on high-value personal injury cases and advising insurer clients on liability and strategy. You’ll draft pleadings, prepare cases for court and negotiate settlements, while cultivating long-term client relationships. Responsibilities

  • Managing a mixed caseload of defendant EL and PL claims, including fast-track and multi-track matters
  • Assisting Partners and Senior Associates on high-value and complex PI cases
  • Advising insurer and corporate clients on liability, quantum, and a litigation strategy
  • Drafting pleadings and legal documents, preparing cases for court, and negotiating settlements
  • Delivering high-quality client service and developing long-term client relationships
  • Staying updated on developments in personal injury, catastrophic injury, and insurance law

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 0–5 years’ PQE
  • Experience in defendant EL and PL claims
  • Background in defendant personal injury litigation, independently or in support of senior solicitors
  • Experience with a defendant insurance law firm
  • Ability to manage a personal caseload and prioritise effectively
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, collaborative approach
  • Experience handling or assisting on high-value and complex PI claims, including multi-track matters (desirable)
