Overview
In this role you will provide senior medical input for adults with learning disabilities across Leeds, working within an MDT to shape mental health care and prevent hospital admissions. You will lead holistic assessments, coordinate with families and stakeholders, and support the Leeds Learning Disability Service in a community-based setting. The post offers opportunities for teaching, medical leadership, and involvement in wider LD/Mental Health initiatives within a trusted teaching environment. This role combines clinical leadership with a focus on high-quality, values-driven care.

Responsibilities
- Provide senior medical input into assessment and review of mental health in adults with learning disability across East and North East Leeds
- Holistic assessments and ongoing reviews to prevent admission
- Liaise with stakeholders, families, and carers
- Work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team
- Participate in service development and education responsibilities as agreed
Key requirements
- MBChB and CCT in LD
- Excellent communication skills to improve experience of those with mental health problems and LD
- Experience in working with LD psychiatry
- Current UK professional registration
