Overview
In this role you will provide clinical and operational leadership for specialist community learning disability services, guiding transformation and quality improvement. You will work with families, carers, commissioners and partners to deliver safe, person-centred care aligned with policy and Trust values. You’ll shape service design through governance, performance management and collaboration with cross‑sector teams. The position offers scope to influence local strategies, budgets and workforce development while improving outcomes for people with learning disabilities. A key hook is leading integration across health and social care within Greater Manchester frameworks.

Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for specialist community learning disability services and ensure delivery of high-quality clinical pathways
- Develop and oversee clinical and operational systems for safe, effective, and person-centred care
- Lead service transformation and integration with partner organisations
- Oversee governance, safeguarding, risk management and compliance with CQC standards
- Manage borough budgets, financial performance and efficiency programmes
- Provide line management and workforce development to senior staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate complaints, serious incidents and escalation processes
- Foster service-user and family involvement in planning and decision-making
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in service delivery and practice
- Ensure on-call contributions and maintain strong external partnerships
Key requirements
- Senior management experience
- Experience in multi-disciplinary LD services
- Experience with complex and challenging needs
- Senior level service, financial and staff management
- Experience in service redesign and quality improvement
- Relevant health or social care professional qualification and registration
- Postgraduate diploma or equivalent
- Evidence of CPD and management training
- UK professional registration
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
