Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Information Security Engineer to contribute to their security infrastructure in East London. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and operational management of security technologies that protect the organization’s information assets. You will work with a variety of security tools and platforms to ensure robust defense mechanisms are in place and performing optimally. This hybrid position offers a dynamic work environment where technical expertise is valued, with a mix of remote work and on-site collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and VPNs.




• Develop and manage security monitoring and logging capabilities.




• Participate in security architecture reviews and provide input on new system designs.




• Respond to and resolve security system alerts and incidents.




• Automate security tasks and workflows where possible.




• Conduct security assessments of systems and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.




• 3-5 years of experience in information security engineering or operations.




• Proficiency with various security technologies and protocols.




• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).




• Understanding of network infrastructure and operating systems security.




• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
