Engineering Quality & Technical Manager

Overview

In this role you will be the technical authority for engineering quality, compliance and equipment supportability in the Defence Equipment portfolio, helping ensure operational readiness for the UK MoD. You’ll lead quality and assurance activities, support cross-functional teams and suppliers, and drive sustainability and lifecycle planning. You’ll manage modifications, bulletins and warranties while developing a high-performing technical team. Responsibilities

• Lead engineering quality and technical assurance across a defence equipment portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards and contracts
• Provide expert technical guidance to operational teams, customers, suppliers and OEMs
• Manage modifications, Technical Service Bulletins, Equipment Safety Notices and warranty processes
• Drive equipment sustainability initiatives including obsolescence management and service life extension planning
• Lead, develop and inspire a technical engineering team with a focus on safety and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with supply chain partners and stakeholders to minimise downtime and support business objectives

Key requirements

• Technical qualification at Level 3/4 (City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Extensive knowledge of engineering quality, technical compliance and equipment maintenance in a complex environment
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience with budgets, lifecycle costing and supplier performance
• Significant experience in plant/equipment maintenance or engineering with technical leadership and project delivery
