ABOUT THE CLIENT
We’re supporting an established global IT services organisation looking for an experienced Break Fix Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong hands‑on hardware repair experience who enjoys working independently and providing excellent customer service.
THE BREAK FIX ENGINEER ROLE
As a Break Fix Engineer, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing desktop and laptop devices, including All-in-One (AiO) computers.
You’ll be travelling to customer sites across North and North West London, providing hands‑on technical support and ensuring hardware issues are resolved efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing laptop, desktop and AiO hardware faults
- Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting IT equipment
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving technical issues
- Managing daily communications via phone, voicemail and email
- Maintaining accurate service records and administrative updates
- Following parts management processes and service procedures
- Escalating technical issues where necessary to ensure effective resolution
- Maintaining tools and diagnostic equipment
BREAK FIX ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing laptops and desktops
- Strong hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics and component replacement experience
- Experience providing customer-facing technical support
- Confident working independently and managing your own workload
- Full, valid driving licence with a good driving record
- Willingness to travel extensively across North and North West London, potentially exceeding 50% of the working day
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25kg
- Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
