Front End Engineering Team Lead

Overview

As a Front-End Engineering Team Lead you drive frontend excellence for large digital programs, shaping product experiences with cross-functional teams. You’ll lead squads, mentor engineers and promote modern practices, including generative AI integration, to deliver high-quality user interfaces. The role sits within Accenture Song’s cross-disciplinary client engagements, emphasising growth, velocity and customer relevance. You will influence technical direction and help clients accelerate digital capabilities at scale.

Responsibilities

• Support growth within the customer technology product engineering practice
• Advise clients on building product and platform engineering capabilities and teams
• Build strong client relationships focused on customer, digital and platforms
• Lead teams across large digital and agile transformation programmes
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists and Engineers to deliver user-facing products
• Propel the use of Generative AI within our work and products
• Contribute technology and engineering thought leadership to clients and teams
• Maximise team performance through mentorship, skills learning and career development
• Contribute to developing offerings, assets and capabilities, and participate in events

Key requirements

• 4+ years’ front-end web development with TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js tooling or similar)
• 2+ years’ experience leading engineering teams or squads
• Experience with design collaboration (Design, QA, Cloud, PM/PO/Delivery)
• Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks (React or similar, Next.js preferred)
• Hands-on use of Generative AI in engineering workflows and products
• Experience building, maintaining and scaling design systems and component libraries
• Experience integrating front-end with backend/cloud via GraphQL and REST
• Extensive experience in agile environments for digital product creation
• Knowledge of front-end architecture patterns, performance, security, testing (Jest/Playwright/Cypress), CI/CD, accessibility
• Client-facing or leadership consulting experience
