Finance Business Analyst

Overview

In this role you will support the Head of Finance Systems and the broader Finance team to deliver finance systems, processes and data transformation. You will bridge Finance, Technology and Data to translate requirements into scalable solutions and contribute to the evolution of the Finance Systems Blueprint. You will work on end-to-end system architecture, data governance, and process improvements that increase automation and control. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a focus on delivering value through better finance data, reporting and system resilience.

Responsibilities

• Bridge Finance, Technology and Data teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
• Maintain understanding of the end-to-end Finance systems landscape, including architecture, data flows, integrations and reporting dependencies
• Support delivery of the Finance Systems strategy through business analysis, requirements definition, process design and implementation support
• Contribute to the Finance Systems Blueprint by documenting current-state and helping design target-state operating models
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate manual activities, strengthen controls, and improve scalability
• Define detailed business requirements, process maps, user stories, data requirements and implementation inputs for transformation initiatives
• Support development of Databricks as the single source of truth for Finance data, including governance and reporting needs
• Identify and coordinate resolution of data issues to improve data quality and usability
• Review Finance integrations and recommend improvements to ownership, monitoring, resilience and performance
• Partner with Finance, Technology, Data, Procurement, HR and external vendors to deliver system, data, reporting and process improvements
• Support optimisation of NetSuite and Concur by assessing capabilities, processes, controls, reporting, integrations and roadmaps
• Identify opportunities to improve Procure-to-Pay, travel and expense processes, automation, analytics and reporting while reducing manual reconciliations and spreadsheet use
• Support testing, implementation, adoption, benefits tracking and governance to maximise value of Finance technology investments

Key requirements

• Background in Insurance industry (preferred)
• Experience in Finance systems, data transformation or process improvement
• Strong understanding of finance processes, controls, reporting, integrations and data flows
• Skilled in requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation and stakeholder management
