Finance Project Manager

Overview

In this Finance Project Manager role, you drive strategic finance initiatives within a global consultancy to improve performance and reporting through transformation projects. You’ll lead a portfolio of finance-focused programs within the Finance Transformation & Operations team, collaborating with Finance, IT and business stakeholders to deliver measurable benefits. The role combines governance, automation and system changes to support sustainable project outcomes. This is a hybrid position based in Bath, offering exposure to complex, cross-functional initiatives with real business impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple finance projects from initiation to implementation
• Manage project scope, timelines, risks, budgets and governance
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders across the business
• Drive finance process improvement, automation and standardisation
• Support finance system implementations, upgrades and integrations
• Establish effective project governance, reporting and decision-making frameworks
• Coordinate testing, training, user acceptance and deployment activities
• Ensure projects deliver measurable benefits aligned to business objectives

Key requirements

• Proven experience leading and delivering projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent project planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing project governance, risks and dependencies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Experience using project management methodologies and tools
• A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
• Experience delivering finance transformation or finance change projects (beneficial)
• Knowledge of finance processes, controls or systems (beneficial)
• Experience working with ERP platforms (beneficial)
• Project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP (beneficial)
