Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design mechanical building services and lead BIM-enabled projects within a multidisciplinary team. You will shape mechanical solutions for commercial schemes using Revit MEP and AutoCAD, coordinating with other disciplines to ensure seamless delivery. You’ll participate in client discussions, design reviews, and site visits while mentoring junior engineers. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and applying cutting-edge BIM methodologies to drive efficient, coordinated design solutions. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on project success and design quality.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical building services (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation)
• Produce detailed designs, calculations, specifications, and reports
• Develop and coordinate Revit MEP models for mechanical services
• Create 2D and 3D drawings in AutoCAD
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and clash detection
• Support concept-to-project completion of coordinated building services
• Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site visits
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development

Key requirements

• Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services design
• Expertise in HVAC design and specification
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and BIM workflows
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Experience in coordinated multidisciplinary design environments
• Desire to continue developing technical expertise in Building Services
• Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and 3D modelling (advantageous)
