Manager – Supplier Relations

Overview

In this role you will manage strategic supplier relationships to create mutual value. You will develop and execute relationship plans, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement within the supply base. You will collaborate with management, sales, and marketing to align supplier activities with business plans. You will partner with suppliers on growth initiatives using planning, analytics, and field support to optimize profits and service levels. This is a high-impact role in a large, collaborative organization focused on reliable, end-to-end supply chain solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive supplier business plans with management
• Coordinate with departments and cross-functional teams to align supplier initiatives with business plans
• Identify target accounts, markets, and sales goals using planning and CRM tools
• Track targets and report results to suppliers and Wesco
• Facilitate supplier training programs for field sales and customers to grow sales
• Manage supplier marketing and co-op funds and allocate funds to support initiatives
• Forecast supplier volume rebates and ensure term agreements and funding are realized
• Monitor margins, fill rates, turns, earnings, and product availability
• Collaborate with distribution centers to optimize supply chain processes and leverage large buys and pre-price increases
• Lead negotiations on corporate agreements, rebates, co-ops, terms, returns, and service expectations
• Coordinate executive supplier meetings and strategic planning sessions
• Ensure compliance with standards and resolve performance issues across the supplier base

Key requirements

• Bachelor degree
• 3–6 years in contract negotiations (depending on phrasing)
• 5–6 years in supplier management
• 5–6 years in staff management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations
• Strong relationship-building and integrity
• Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office software
