Overview

In this role you will lead Life Services’ planning, forecasting and reporting to enable informed, strategic decisions. You’ll partner with senior leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights while upholding governance and regulatory requirements. The position drives finance process improvements and explores technology, automation and AI to create a more efficient finance function. You’ll develop and coach a high-performing team within Life Services and the wider Group finance. This is a growth-focused role with real impact on the company’s mission and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead forecasting, planning and reporting for Life Services to deliver timely performance insight
• Oversee monthly/periodic financial reporting with variance analysis and action recommendations
• Provide financial challenge to senior stakeholders to inform strategic decisions
• Lead performance analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives
• Develop financial models and scenario planning for long-term decision-making
• Ensure accurate regulatory returns submission and strong governance and controls
• Drive continuous improvement in planning/reporting processes, embracing tech, automation and AI
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing, inclusive Finance team across Life Services and Group finance

Key requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and performance management expertise
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with stakeholder-facing capability
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Experience leading finance teams in a complex environment
• Understanding of financial governance, controls and regulatory reporting
• Passion for process improvement and leveraging technology to improve outcomes
