What you will be doing
- Deliver engaging, hands‑on Design Technology lessons that inspire creativity, curiosity and participation.
- Support students to develop practical skills through designing, making, evaluating and problem‑solving.
- Adapt learning to meet individual needs, strengths and interests.
- Build positive relationships that encourage students to take risks, develop resilience and believe in their abilities.
- Monitor progress, celebrate achievements and support students to reach meaningful goals.
- Contribute to personalised learning plans and work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for students.
What you will bring
- QTS or equivalent required
- Experience teaching Design Technology or a related practical subject.
- The creativity and enthusiasm to make learning engaging, relevant and accessible.
- Experience in classroom management and the ability to adapt teaching to SEND individual needs.
- A patient, resilient and solution‑focused approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- A genuine commitment to supporting students who may have experienced challenges in their educational journey.

Red Kite School is an independent special school for up to 60 young people aged 11–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
