Half this job is architecture. The other half is convincing senior stakeholders that you’re right, and bringing them with you.
£75 – £80k, permanent, hybrid with a few days a month at the office in Yorkshire. A senior solution architect seat at a large national not-for-profit, fully cloud and Microsoft-led, where new regulation means the architecture work matters now.
What’s in it for you
- A senior seat in a small architecture team, reporting to the Head of Architecture
- Real breadth: data, application, technology and security across a large SaaS-heavy estate
- Influence on roadmaps and investment, not just project designs
- Work with a purpose: the systems you shape support frontline services for the public
What you’ll be doing
- Setting the high-level design, options and decision records, with engineers owning detailed design and build
- Governing how suppliers and SaaS products fit the target architecture
- Shaping the move of a large legacy integration estate onto a modern cloud platform
- Supporting new system selections from an architecture perspective
- Working with senior business and technology leaders on roadmaps and investment planning
What you’ll need
- A track record of influencing senior non-technical stakeholders and winning support for a recommended approach
- Established solution architecture experience at HLD level, setting design for others to build
- Breadth across data, application, technology and security architecture, rather than depth in a single stack
Useful, not essential
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and the wider Microsoft estate
- An architectural view of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform
- Integration architecture, particularly Azure Service Bus or similar
- TOGAF, BCS or equivalent architecture certification
- Experience in the public sector, not-for-profit or another regulated environment
