Resource base Teaching Assistant

A 2 form entry school in Erdington are looking for a qualified teaching assistant to work in a specialist resource base attached to the school.

The children in this hub have complex needs and are predominantly ASD and non verbal. The suitable teaching assistant must be experienced in this field and be prepared to undertake personal care.

The children are across Key Stage 1 age. There are other TA’s in the hub who will support. This candidate is required to be a team player and help out where needs be.

To be successful in this role you will require:

• Level 3 + Teaching Assistant Qualification (NVQ / CACHE preferable)
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND on a one to one basis
• Experience of MAKATON is preferable but not essential
• Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum
• Recent primary school experience within the last 2 years
