Legionella Consultant

Overview

As a Legionella Consultant, you provide independent water safety and risk management guidance to a prestigious client base, shaping best practices in Legionella control. You will lead risk assessments, advise on Water Safety Plans, and translate microbiological data into actionable risk mitigation. The role is consultancy-led, highly technical, and offers structured progression from Consultant to Senior/Principal. You’ll work with cross-industry clients and contribute to training and documentation in a supportive, development-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Legionella risk assessments and technical reviews
• Provide water safety and risk management advisory services
• Support development and implementation of Water Safety Plans
• Interpret microbiological data and advise on risk mitigation
• Produce high-quality technical reports and guidance documents
• Deliver client training and contribute to accredited courses
• Engage with stakeholders across sectors
• Support compliance with UK regulations and LCA standards

Key requirements

• Experience in Legionella / water hygiene / water safety consultancy
• Strong understanding of UK Legionella guidance (ACoP L8, HSG274, etc.)
• Excellent analytical and report writing skills
• Confident communicator with client-facing experience
• Ambitious and motivated to progress within a consultancy environment
