AWS Transport Business Development Manager, Central Government, Transport

Overview

In this role, you drive growth for AWS in the UK transport sector, shaping how cloud-native analytics, real-time operations, and AI-powered optimisation transform critical infrastructure and mobility services. You will engage senior public sector leaders, define sector strategy, and build strategic partnerships to accelerate cloud adoption. The role sits in the AWS Transport team within UK Public Sector, focusing on rail, roads, aviation, and regional transport to deliver safer, more efficient, and sustainable mobility outcomes. You will partner across government, industry, and ecosystems to turn policy objectives into tangible cloud-enabled results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a UK Transport sector business plan to drive revenue growth and market share
• Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with transport leaders and key officials
• Define and articulate compelling value propositions for AWS Transport aligned to sector challenges
• Accelerate customer adoption and form strategic partnerships with global infrastructure providers, SIs, and ISVs
• Engage senior management through regular business reviews, pipeline updates, and roadblocks
• Identify cross-industry opportunities and feed insights into Go-To-Market strategy
• Support builders of transport solutions on AWS and ensure customer requirements inform product strategy

Key requirements

• Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
• Experience developing strategies that influence organizational leadership decisions
• Experience managing cross-functional programs and coordinating release timelines
• Experience with Advanced Compute technologies (e.g., Accelerated Compute, HPC, Visual/Spatial Compute, IoT)
• Experience with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration (e.g., Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, Cloud Operations)
• Experience with Data & AI technologies (AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, Storage)
• Experience interpreting data to make business recommendations
• Experience negotiating and executing complex legal/contractual agreements
